Poets Against War continues the tradition of socially engaged poetry by creating venues for poetry as a voice against war, tyranny and oppression.

The Playground

I only turned my back for a moment,
but I heard the pop.
Something happened. Somebody is hurt.
They are both bleeding.
Who started this?

Please stop crying.
Who hit who?
Who started this?

"It's HIS fault" each of them says.
"He's bad" each of them says.
Then they both start crying.

Who started this?
What can I do?

Perhaps I should separate them.
Perhaps I can find someone
who was there. Someone who saw something.
Perhaps I can punish them both.
Perhaps I should just ignore them.

Or perhaps I should just
drop a bomb on the whole playground.
